There is something special about receiving a certificate.
I know some find it almost routine, but for me it’s more than a piece of paper or a ticked box. It’s recognition that the work behind it meets the highest standards, something that is often forgotten and not talked about.
This year (alongside multiple certificates and awards for our PPE recycling service) we have added another milestone by boosting the sustainability credentials of our FireBear range of flame resistant and arc flash PPE by achieving a new standard.
FireBear garments, excluding knitwear, are now OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified. This globally recognised label means every component of the FireBear garment range has undergone rigorous testing at a certified testing house for harmful chemicals and substances.
The certification process is demanding. Garment samples and production records are submitted, documentation is reviewed, and independent laboratories test against more than 1,000 substances. Strict limit values must be met, and the manufacturing site is inspected to verify responsible practices.
Only once every stage is complete is certification awarded.

This is not just about compliance. It is about proving that FireBear garments are harmless to human health, produced responsibly, and aligned with international regulations. For Tower, it is another way of showing that responsibility is woven into the very fabric of what we deliver.
Why this matters to our customers:
FireBear has always stood for protection and reliability. With OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, it now stands as proof that safety and sustainability can go hand in hand!
