Redefining PPE value

I would like to reposition how PPE value is calculated in a way that puts the health, safety, and wellbeing of the wearer at the centre.

When it comes to providing the right PPE to staff, I don't think it should be a box-ticking exercise. I believe it is an investment in their wellbeing, productivity, and sense of belonging. So I ask...

How do you calculate the value of your PPE? Just price? (I hope not!). Compliance and safety? I should hope so. But how about wearer comfort? What about inclusion? Is the wellbeing of your employees the primary source of value that PPE is judged by?

It is these questions that have helped develop FireBear. I can't put it simpler: FireBear is designed with wearers and for wearers. We do this because we believe - in fact, we know - the value that the comfort and wellbeing of your employees brings to your business. But this is something I understand is hard to calculate in real terms. That's probably why it is too often overlooked when deciding on what PPE to choose, especially for arc flash where compliance is king.

If you want to invest in PPE value that reaches beyond box-ticking parameters such as price and compliance, I recommend FireBear. I recommend it because it's a brand that measures its value on the way it makes people feel when they wear it. Comfortable, safe, and proud to work for you.

Designed for the perfect fit

Ill-fitting PPE can limit mobility, hinder performance, compromise safety in hazardous environments, and make wearers uncomfortable. FireBear uses advanced sizing technology to ensure it adapts to a diversity of body shapes and movements.

FireBear layering systems allow wearers to adapt their workwear to suit any environment and weather condition without compromising safety. Flexibility and breathability are built into every layer, empowering wearers with a sharp focus and confidence to excel at work.

Diversity is in our DNA

It is inspiring to see more women entering construction, energy, and engineering every day. Unisex design is in the past. Every PPE designer has a responsibility to ensure their women’s range is as tailored and comprehensive as their men’s workwear, including maternity PPE. Here's a quote from Heather Bishop, Occupational Safety Officer at SSE, that I think sums it up perfectly...

“Women feel they belong when they wear FireBear.”

The FireBear range of women’s workwear is fully tailored to the nuances of the female form. Its design is based on listening to how women like to move and access tools when working. We are also proud to offer the most stylish women’s workwear designs on the market.

The value that FireBear delivers is in the sense of belonging that wearers feel. It demonstrates that you take your workforce’s needs seriously. Employees who feel valued and included are also more likely to feel motivated, perform well, and advocate how great their employer is.

“FireBear truly understands the challenges we face.” Ian Alexander, Occupational Safety Advisor at SSE.

Investing in FireBear sends a powerful message to your teams about how you define PPE. It says you put them first. Their comfort, their sense of belonging, and their safety. I guarantee this will result in increased levels of performance, retention, and your brand’s value.
