Introducing our new range of rail-spec orange hi-vis, which includes polyester-free FR & arc flash PPE.
FireBear is revolutionising PPE with 100% polyester-free orange hi-vis arc flash RIS 3279 TOM PPE. Our fabric delivers 9.1 Cal ELIM Arc Protection at just 255gsm, making it one of the lightest and safest options available.
Polyester melts under extreme temperatures. That’s why we believe removing it from our fabric is an important innovation to keep people safe in an accident. It’s no wonder that our new range is already being worn by National Grid, TFL, Milestone, and GTC.
Now it’s your turn.
Our new polyester-free fabric has been tested against extreme temperatures to ensure it does not melt and cause severe burns like polyester can. That's why our range is safer, lighter, and better.
An EN11612 four-second burn test performed on FireBear's new polyester-free orange hi vis coveralls at Aitex, Spain's leading centre for research, innovation and advanced technical services for the textile, garment and technical textile industries.
Less than 2% of 2nd degree burns (pass mark <50%) on protected areas. All linings, zips, poppers, velcro, tape, badges, and symbols were left untouched. This ensures the wearer can remove the suit in an emergency without further burns, further adding to the exceptional levels of safety and protection.
Sustainability isn’t just a commitment. It’s woven into the very fabric of our innovation. Through the URIM fabric range we have made significant strides in reducing environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Some of the URIM fabric collection (URIM CNL1, URIM PLUS, KOR, and KOR GREEN) are free from polyester for improved safety and lower energy consumption during production. The energy required to produce viscose, a key component of our fabrics, is 30% lower than that of polyester.
With a majority composition of recyclable cellulosic fibres, these fabrics are biodegradable, making them easier to recycle. The simplified yarn composition enables efficient separation for recycling, contributing to a circular economy in textile production.
FireBear prioritises local production, ensuring that garments are manufactured less than 200km from the mill. We made this strategic move to ensure we minimise transportation emissions and reduce environmental impact across our supply chain.
We recognise the textile industry's impact on water consumption and have made measurable reductions in water usage over recent years. Additionally, our supply chain operates within a 400km radius, further cutting transportation emissions and optimising energy efficiency.
We partner with sustainable suppliers who adhere to stringent environmental standards. All fabrics comply with REACH regulation requirements, ensuring they contain no substances of high concern. Our commitment to transparency is demonstrated through certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) for KOR GREEN, which contains 50% recycled pre-consumer yarn.
